Kamarin Take On Their Toughest Fundraiser Yet

On Saturday, 10th August The HBP Group completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, to raise money for our 2019 chosen charities, Sands UK and Women V Cancer.

A Trek To Mark The Ages

Our volunteers walked 30 miles in under 13-hours, in torrential rain, hail and brutal 30mph winds which quickly turned this challenge into a battle – but we’re pleased to say HBP were the victors.

Without a doubt, this was not just the toughest fundraiser in The HBP Group’s history, but it was the most physically and mentally challenging pursuit most of the team had ever experienced.

After the huge success of Tony Pearson’s 48-hour Gameathon in February, which raised nearly our entire year’s fundraising target, our Managing Director Joanne Dixon, knew she wanted to take her event to a new level.

For my organised fundraiser, I wanted something challenging so we could encourage as many donations as possible. The company has a monthly walking group already, and we’ve got people who’ve completed Tough Mudders, Marathons and other enduring, physical activities – so I thought the 3 Peaks would appeal!
Joanne Dixon, Managing Director, HBP Systems.

Joanne was right, but with no delusion about how tough the 3 Peaks was going to be, there were 17 volunteers confident that they would actually be able to complete the challenge.
Thanks to additional donations and our annual charity Golf Day, by the time it came to plan this event, the initial target had been exceeded, so it was decided we would increase the 3 Peaks target to £3000. We are elated to say that we did not just hit our target, we again exceeded it raising £3820 for Sands UK and Women V Cancer. Described by an experienced guide as “the worst weather they have seen anyone attempt the 3 Peaks in”, the incredible charities the team was doing it for kept them motivated to complete it.

We sincerely thank everyone for their donations, support and time spent raising awareness for two organisations that save and change lives every day.
