At Kamarin, we consider the charity and fundraising work we do as a serious responsibility. Our people decide upon the chosen charities for the year, which means the organisations we fundraise for our always close to our hearts so we’re dedicated to raising as much as possible.
The Social and Charity Committee
The Social and Charity Committee at Kamarin is internally managed by employees and runs independently from the company management, but everyone is welcome to join.
Our first major fundraising event this year was a 48-Hour charity Gameathon organised by our Operations Director, Tony Pearson. The target was to raise £500 towards the £3000 target for the whole year. Whether it was gaming for two days or raising awareness, the entire company got involved in this event. We are absolutely overwhelmed and delighted that this event raised a total of £2,738.76, which is 91% of the entire year’s target.
At our annual customer Golf Day in May we reaised £1300.
In August, we completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – the most intense physical and mental endurance that many of our team have ever experienced. 29 miles in under 13-hours, in non-stop torrential rain, hail and relentless 30mph winds, which their experienced guides described as the worst conditions they have ever seen anyone attempt the Three Peaks. They battled on and raised a fantastic £3740 for our chosen charities.
